McKAY, Arthur Campbell James
Passed away Monday, May 24, in Parksville, B.C. at 86 years of age.
Arthur was born Christmas Day, 1918 at Shoal River, Manitoba. He grew up in Grand Rapids, Manitoba. He served as an infantryman in the Queens own Cameron Highlanders from 1939 to 1944. He was awarded 5 medals for his service. He was a fisherman in Manitoba, Northwest Territories, British Columbia and Alaska for 45 years. He also worked in mines in British Columbia, Ontario and Northwest Territories. He is survived by his sisters Margaret Ruiz of Seattle, Washington, USA; Kathleen Klassen of Parksville, BC; Mary Rutherford of Halifax, Nova Scotia; his brother Raymond McKay of Parksville, BC; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
