ROBERTSON, Bernice Joan Passed away quietly at Trillium Lodge in Parksville on March 12, 2004. Joan is survived by her loving husband William and son Darrell. Pre-deceased by her daughter. Joan was born in England on August 17, 1917. She received her training in Germany and England prior to WWII where she carried out her duties throughout the war as a registered Nurse in England. After the war Joan and her mother and father came to Canada. In 1953 Joan married Bill, moved to the West Coast of Vancouver Island settling in Tofino for a number of years. After retirement they came to Parksville and Joan continued her life long hobby with stamps and teddy bears. Joan was known locally as the Bear Lady. At Joan’s request there is no service.
