DEADMAN, Beryl (Candy) (Nee Perkins)

following a full life and a lengthy battle with cancer, passed away July 2, 2003.

Born in London, England in 1922. Predeceased by her husband William Charles in 1985. Candy is survived by her son Michael (Harmmine) and granddaughter Shannon of Parksville; brother J. Stuart Perkins (Valerie) of Sarasota, Florida and niece Sarah Cortese (John) also of Sarasota, Florida.

Candy was a member of Branch 76 Royal Canadian Legion, Qualicum Beach, having served as a Code & Cypher Officer in the W.A.A.F. 11 Group Fighter Command from 1940-1946.

Bill and Candy moved to British Columbia in 1947, following their marriage in 1946. They lived on Bowen Island and Alert Bay before retiring to lovely Qualicum Beach in 1980. Candy enjoyed many great friendships and activities here and her time as a volunteer with The Old School House Art Centre.

Candy received wonderful care from Dr. Theophilus, Community Nursing, Home Support, District 69 Hospice and Palliative Care.
