1947-2009
After valiantly battling cancer for two years, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Betty (Betsy) Louise Cannon on May 4, 2009. Born on April 29, 1947, Betsy along with her older brothers Bob and Peter, were raised in Abbotsford by Dr. Harry Cannon and his wife Margaret.
Betsy pursued a career in nursing, graduating from Vancouver General Hospital in 1971. She met many of her life-long friends through nursing, and was able to share many of her travels with them throughout the world.
In 1983, her greatest accomplishment, in her own words, was the birth of her son, Travis. In 1990 they moved to Vancouver Island where Betsy spent her last 19 years living a very full and active life.
She will mostly be remembered for her fierce independence; selfless love and loyalty toward family and friends, and her quirky sense of humour.
Predeceased by her Father (Harry) and Mother (Margaret), Betsy leaves behind to mourn, her beloved son Travis (Heidi), her two brothers Bob (Sylvia), Peter (Jane), many nieces, nephews and cousins, along with many cherished friends.

May 12, 2009 at 2:00 pm.
We would like to gratefully thank all the medical doctors, nursing and home care support given to Betsy throughout her battle with cancer.
