In his 64th year Bryon passed peacefully on June4, 2010 after two days in the Nanaimo Palliative Care Unit and one year after being diagnosed with colon cancer.
Beloved husband of Elaine Stremlaw- Taylor for 42 years; they both were born in Niagara Falls. Bryon had incredible optimism and generosity, sharing with others his sense of fun and of the beauty of life. He was taken far too soon, and we are left behind to mourn. But we are comforted that Bryon felt Jesus walked with him in a very special way.
After a career in the BC Public Service, Bryon retired to Nanoose Bay, BC adding on a winter snowbird life in Green Valley, Arizona. He was a member of St. Marks Church, Qualicum Memorial Golf Club, Elks Lodge #589, PGOSA (Parksville Golden Oldies Sports Association). BAJA, a Green Valley sports organization and an affiliate member of the Royal Canadian Legion.
A lifelong fan of the Duke Blue Devils and the Alabama Crimson Tide - both teams came through with National Championships in Bryon’s final year.
Always noted for his fleetness of foot, Bryon has hit it out of the park and is now headed for home.
