December 9, 2010

May 31, 1910 - December 9, 2010

Bus died peacefully at Stanford Place in Parksville. He is survived by his wife Joan, his sister Irene, five step-children, daughter Gillian, son David and many grand-children and extended family members. He was predeceased by his first wife Ruth in 1983.

Bus was born in Winnipeg, the fourth of seven children. He was an energetic and enthusiastic person, taking on new interests and active in sports. Following a 40 year career with CPR in Winnipeg and then Vancouver, he enjoyed 40 years of happy retirement in Qualicum Beach. He was well known as a curler, and especially as a golfer. He served overseas in the Canadian Air Force in World War II.

A celebration of Bus’ life was held during May 2010 on the occasion of his 100th birthday.

We thank the staff at Stanford Place for their wonderful care of Bus for the last year.
