TRAER, Calvin Lemuel

Born June 30, 1928, passed away peacefully onJune 28, 2006 in Qualicum, B.C., with his loving wife, Eva, of 53 years by his side.

Together Cal and Eva had three children: Marcia, Catherine (Osmany), Michael (Carol) and grandchildren Tamara, Matthew and Amber, and step-grandchildren Leighton, Brittany and Christian.

He is predeceased by his mother and father, Gwen and Lem, his brother Lem Jr, and son-in-law Eric.

Cal was proud to be a logger; starting with Hillcrest Lumber Company for 20 years and then working around Kitimat and along many of the west coast inlets, until forming Traer Mahood Contractors in 1974 to retirement in 1990.

Cal loved the outdoors and enjoyed bird and duck hunting in his younger years and birdwatching later on in life. He and Eva also enjoyed travelling and RVing. A heartfelt thanks to all the special people in all departments of the Eagle Park Health Care facility who cared for Cal.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Cal and Eva’son Thursday, July 6 from 2-5pm.

No flowers by request. Donations may be made in Cal’s memory to the Alzheimer Society of BC, 2571A Quadra St, Victoria, V8T 4E1. Remains to be interred in the James Dougan Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
