WHITE, Cary Lance

Of Parksville, BC?July 26, 1946 - June 10, 2008

We sadly announce the death of our husband and father, taken from us too soon after a brief struggle with cancer.

Cary is survived by his beloved wife, Merrilee, cherished daughters, Carrah and Lynsey (Corey and Ashton), brother Daryl (Kim and Nik), extended family Vicki & David (Casey, Noah), Larry and Elaine, Robin and Russ (Tatum).

Cary spent his school years in Duncan and graduated from Simon Fraser University. He spent 23 years as a Safety Officer with WorkSafe BC, specializing in the forest industry, and lately as an Advocate with B.C. Forest Safety Council. He was a valued and respected professional. He will be remembered for his legendary stories and wit, his “damn near perfect” attitude in life, his love of solving problems, his extraordinary capacity to engage all he met and his love for his family and friends.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Desai and the staff in the Palliative Care Unit at N.R.G.H. for their compassion and professionalism in carry for Cary.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Arrowsmith Hall at Coombs Fair Grounds on Ford Road in Coombs on Sunday, June 29, 2008 at 2:00 p.m.

For directions, email jdklint@shaw.ca. Please feel free to bring a picture or story of Cary to share. In lieu of flowers, donations to the B.C. Cancer Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
