Born: Chatham, ON ~ At Peace: Nanaimo, BC
After a long courageous journey, Charlie passed away in peace with his wife and daughter at his side. He will forever be missed by his loving wife of 29 years, Pamela, children Kasia and Benn, nieces Jennifer Kipp and Kristen Park, brother-in-law William Kipp, Ron and Donna Courteaux, Terry and Zena Peters and their families, all from Ontario and godchildren Zin and Svaya Olin. Predeceased by his parents Carl and Sadie, brother John and sister Marion. He will also be sadly missed by his beloved “psycho” Bella and his goofy looking grandog Axel. The many people that Charlie touched in his life included those that drove on the roads he built (he was known as a road builder extraordinaire), the ones that feasted on the fish he caught as skipper of the Victor “F” and the Legion members that benefited from his 35 years of volunteer service where he was currently 1st Vice-President. Charlie took a course in CBC broadcasting and this explains his love of being the consummate microphone hog.
A celebration of Charlie’s life will be held at Yates Funeral Chapel, 1000 Allsbrook Rd Parksville, BC at 1:00 pm, Saturday, October 10, 2009.
A “Charlie Party” will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion, Br #49, 146 W Hirst St Parksville, BC.
In lieu of flowers, please donate a pint of blood in Charlie’s memory at your local blood bank (he did drain it!). It would be greatly appreciated if you could put your name on the organ donor transplant list at
www.transplant.bc.ca. 85% think they are on the list but actually only 17% are!!
