GREENOUGH, Charles Lloyd

of Parksville, BC

and formerly of Edmonton, AB,

passed away peacefully on January 16, 2004 at the age of 88 years.

Lloyd was predeceased by his parents, his brother Clark and his sister Erba. Survived by his loving wife of 65.5 years May; 2 daughters Gayle (Keith) Congdon of Qualicum Beach, BC and Marlene (Robert) Stephen of Morinville, AB; grandchildren Todd, Michelle, Daniel, Melissa and Karrah; great-grandchildren Jennifer, Logan and Dawson; his sisters Mary Munro of Vancouver, BC and Lois (Johnny) Harms of Spruce Grove, AB.

Lloyd and May retired to Parksville in 1980 after a long time commercial building career in Edmonton. Lloyd was an Air Force Veteran of WWII and a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 1325 for 65 years.

Lloyd was a great lover of square and round dancing from 1953 onward. He was still planning and attending square dancing conventions to the day he died. He was the Chairman of the first Canadian National Square Dancing Association in 1978 held in Edmonton, AB.

Lloyd was an active speed skater for his entire life and a member of PGOSA (Parksville Golden Oldies Sports Association).

Special thanks to Dr. Graham White and Dr. Michael Kenyon and their nursing staff and to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #49 in Parksville, BC.

A Celebration of Lloyd’s life will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2004 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.

at the family home,

231 Evergreen Street, Parksville, BC.
