TWEEDHOPE, Clara Pearl (nee Thomas)

1910 - 2003. Died peacefully on July 23 at Nanaimo General Hospital.

Pearl was born March 26, 1910 in South Wellington, BC; lifelong resident of Vancouver Island. Pearl resided in Lantzville for a number of years, then in 1956 with husband Jimmy and daughters, moved to Qualicum Beach. In 1996, she spent her remaining years at Arranglen Lodge. Pearl was predeceased by husband Jimmy and an infant daughter Margaret Rose; also two brothers George and Raymond Thomas; sisters Val Parkin and Dorothy Laducier, all of Nanaimo. Remaining sister Millie MacIntyre of Nanaimo. She leaves behind three daughters Georgia (Jeanie) Garrow of Qualicum Beach, Mary Garrow of Parksville and Lorna (Barry) Lucas of Victoria; ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Special thank you goes to the nursing staff at NRGH on the sixth floor who made Mom’s last days, giving her comfort and dignity. Also to Dr. Cameron and Dr. Bothma for your care of Mom; and the pastor for his comforting words to Mom. Thank you all. The Garrow family.

There will be no service at Pearl’s request but at a later date, the family and few friends will have a get-together to celebrate her life.

Flowers are gratefully declined but if you wish to donate, please make it to the Children’s Hospital in Vancouver.
