Daisy passed away at Arrowsmith Lodge on
Sunday November 16, 2008
She was born in England on May 18 1909 and immigrated to
Canada with her 3 sisters in the late 1920’s.They settled in the Northup district of Alberta, where they ran a small family farm. Daisy married Walt Avery and raised two children, Terry and Pat. In 1948 the family moved to Parksville.
She was an active member of the Branch 49 Legion Ladies
Auxiliary and for many years could be found at “her post” in the Post Office, selling Poppies for Remembrance Day.
Many will remember seeing Daisy and Walt at Armistice masquerade Dances dressed in a variety of creative prize winning costumes. Daisy spent her last few years at Arrowsmith Lodge where each year, including her last, she participated in some way in the Remembrance Day celebration. She will be missed.
Daisy was predeceased by her Husband Walt in 1988 and her Daughter Pat (Lindberg) in 2008. She is survived by her son Terry and daughter in law Margot, son in law Joe Lindberg, eight Grandchildren and ten great Grandchildren
A Memorial Service will be held Friday November 28 at 1:30 PM in the Chapel at Knox United Church on Pym road with internment to follow in the Church Cemetery.
