Derek Edward Smith
April 19, 1931 – June 19, 2017
Derek died peacefully on Monday, June 19, 2017 at Trillium Hospice in Parksville, after a long illness.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Felicity; his 3 daughters, Maddy, Alison and Gaynor; and all of their extended family in New Zealand, Australia, as well as his in-laws in England and the U.S.A.
We wish to thank all the doctors, nurses and care aides for their wonderful caring and support while we were at Trillium Hospice. We also thank the many Home Support staff who brightened our days.
A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Mary’s Church, 2600 Powder Point Road in Nanoose Bay on Thursday, June 29th at 2:00p.m.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or the B.C. Lung Association would be greatly appreciated.
