Mom was born in Hartland, New Brunswick to Donald James and Margaurite Anita Hovey.
Mom is predeceased by her parents, brothers Ron and Fred, son Richard and Son-in-law Matt Siren.
She leaves behind her husband of 67 years, Lawrence, Sister Wanda, Brother Glendon, daughters Shirley (Matt), Deborah, Katherine, Susan (Cory), and sons Terry (Christine) and Trent (Tiffany), as well as Grandchildren Pamela, Darren, Penny, Kaitlyn, Rebecca, Taylor, and Great-grandchildren Bradon, Caiden, Tanner, Cashel, Teacon, and Hunter, who she sadly never got to meet.
Mom married Dad on February 17, 1957, at the tender ages of 15 and 17. They raised their first six children in New Brunswick until 1969 when Dad moved us to Port Alberni for work, where they had Baby #7, Susan.
They moved to Whiskey Creek in 1979 where they built a new home which they just sold after 43 years and moved to Parksville.
Mom worked hard and proudly earned her GED. She enjoyed cake decorating, knitting and flower arranging.
With mobility and health issues worsening the gift of an iPad from Trent and Tiffany was a Godsend. She was blessed to be able to keep in touch with family and friends.
Rest in peace, Mom. We miss and love you. We will meet again.
The funeral will be on April 11 at 1:00 pm.
