SMITH, Doris Hilda
Of Bowser, BC, passed away on October 30, 2004 at the age of 84 years. Survived by her loving husband Stan; one son Len (Barb) of Port Alberni, BC; two daughters Sharon (Alick) Smith of Coombs, BC and Carol (Gordy) Webb of Victoria, BC; one grandson Joshua; 6 granddaughters Cheryll, Karen, Stephanie, Shannon, Melissa and Samantha; two great-granddaughters Chelsea and Brookelynne; 7 great-grandsons Alex, Caden, Taylor, Braeden, Hayden, Brandon and Kyle; one brother Ernie (Lindell) of Victoria, BC; and one sister Helen MacDonald of Thunder Bay, ON. Doris and Stan raised their family in Victoria, BC and retired to Deep Bay, BC in 1976. It was at Deep Bay that Doris enjoyed going fishing and working in the garden with her beloved husband, Stan. Doris was a long time member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Bowser Legion where she enjoyed her Monday night Euchre and Wednesday night crib games. Her artistic flair was evident in her paintings on porcelain of colourful birds, flowers and nature scenes. She enjoyed visits from her friends and family, especially her grand children and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. There will be no service by request.
