Dorothy May Bell passed away peacefully on September 15, 2006, in Parksville, at the age of 86 years. Dorothy was predeceased by her devoted husband, John W. Bell on April 30, 2006.

Dorothy will be deeply missed by her sister, Margurette Lee of Victoria, brother, Cyril Clack of Edmonton, nephew, Bob (Judy) Smith of Barrhead, Alberta; cousins: Cathy Morris of Brandon, Manitoba, Doug Clack of Rivers, Manitoba and Judy (Morris) Flewwelling of Red Deer, Alberta; her nephews, Peter (Marion) Bell of Courtenay and their daughters, Shirley and Diana, David Creeth and his children: Barton and Jennifer of California and Jim (Rose) Creeth also of California; her dear friend, Mary Mathon of Saanichton, B.C. and special friends: Dr. Terrance Knight and Nell and Frank Bergunder of Parksville.

Dorothy’s family and friends will miss her cheerful manner, sense of humour, and passion for life which endeared her to everyone she met.

Dorothy was born November 16, 1919 in Cardale, Manitoba to George Percival Clack and Ethel Amelia Clack (Bishop). In 1960, she moved to Victoria with her parents and brother, where she met Dr. John Bell, a chiropractor. They were married in May 1964. A few years after John retired they moved to Parksville where they continued to enjoy gardening, traveling, and spending time with their family and many friends.

Dorothy was a talented artist who had an eye for beauty. She enjoyed painting and other crafts that enabled her to indulge her creative spirit.

The family is grateful to the dedicated staff and volunteers at Trillium Lodge in Parksville for their loving care and kindness to Dorothy and John.
