McKIM, Douglas Frank
April 3, 1926 – March 12, 2006
With great sadness we announce the passing of our father & husband Douglas Frank McKim on March 12, 2006 at Trillium Lodge in Parksville. Dad was born and raised in the farming community of Riceton, Sask. As a young man he moved to Dryden, Ontario. He lived there till 1986 when he retired and moved to Nanoose Bay, where he lived for the next 20 years.
Despite his illness from Parkinsons, he lived his life to the fullest, enjoying his garden, home projects and RVing with family and friends, discovering the beauty of the island.
He is survived by his loving wife June of 56 years; daughters Deborah of Parksville, Karen (Al) of Sooke; son Wayne (Lynnda) of Dryden, ON; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 2 brothers Don (Lil) of Nanoose Bay, Hartley of Manitoba. He was predeceased by his youngest son Jeff in March, 2002.
For friends and family, there will be a celebration of life for Doug on Saturday, March 18, 2006 at family friend’s Ken & Rieta DeClercq at 1:00 pm, #1494 Price Road, Errington, BC, 954-3994.
