SMITH, Edith Cecily (nee Bastin) Passed away on March 6, 2004 at the age of 86 years at the Nanaimo Senior Village She was the daughter of Rev. J.S.A. Bastin and Adela P. Bastin (nee Flewelling). She is predeceased by her husband William H. Smith, her brother Aubrey Bastin, sisters A. Betty Bastin and Mary J. Lebel. Survived by those of her generation are Hilary Foskett (Dudley), Shirley Green (Jack), sister-in-law Joan Bastin. She will be deeply missed by her two sons and their families: son Michael (Audrey), grandson Troy (Deb), great-granddaughters Keitha, Ashley; grandson Trevor (Amy), great-grandchildren Emily, Nicholas; son John (Donna), granddaughters Karen (Edward), Patricia (Todd), Dallas. Her nephews and nieces include Sandra Johnson, Sydney Varley, Susan Bastin, Peter Green, Derek Green, Gillian Green and Colin Grice and Ann McLeod. She enjoyed the friendship of many of the residents and bingo partners of Nanaimo Senior Village and her caregivers there. A funeral service will be held at St. Anne's Church in Parksville.
