PAYNE, Elsie

of Qualicum Beach, BC passed away on February 7, 2003 after a battle with cancer.Elsie was born in Northill, Bedfordshire, England on April 23, 1922. Elsie married Harry Charles Payne on November 18, 1944. In 1953 the family moved to Canada. Besides her family, Elsie took great joy in gardening, bird watching, painting, knitting and being active in her church, especially in the prayer ministry.

She was predeceased in death by her parents Harry and Liffen Endersby of Northill. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Harry; her daughter Andrea (Brian) Collart of McKinleyville, California and her son Ian (Carol) Payne of Regina, Sask, and grandchildren Nicholas and Heather Collart, Joseph Trotter (Payne) and Emily Payne; 2 sisters in England, Doll (Olive) Milton and Honor Thompson and many nephews, nieces and their families. She was greatly loved and will be sorely missed. She is now at peace with Jesus and suffering no more.

A Funeral Service will be held at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, 138 W. Hoylake Road, Qualicum Beach, B.C. at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2003 with Reverend David Gifford-Cole officiating.

At Elsie’s request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to World Vision Canada, 1 World Drive, Mississauga, ON L5T 2Y4.
