BENTLEY, Emily Catherine
Born in Montreal on July 5, 1930 and passed away
on December 29, 2002 at home in Parksville.
Emily graduated from McGill University in 1951 and served in the RCAF for 3 years before moving to Toronto. There she married Ernie, raised 3 children, taught English and French and wrote many poems and short stories. She moved to Parksville in 1986.
She will be sadly missed by husband Ernie, sister Caroline of California, daughter Cathy of Churchill, Ont., sons John and Walter of Toronto, as well as granddaughters Therese, Kelly, Kendra and Lauren.
Emily spent many happy hours square dancing, golfing, and swimming in the ocean.
A farewell gathering will take place at the Bentley home on Thursday, January 2nd from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
A private cremation will be held. In lieu of flowers, Emily suggested donations to District 69 Hospice Society.
