EILERS, Eunice (Fairhurst)
1929 – 2006
Kelly passed away in Nanaimo on December 23rd after a valiant struggle with a long term illness. She was surrounded by her loving family, and will be sadly missed. She is survived by her husband Lew Eilers, and children David Fairhurst and Carol Fairhurst (Wayne Giles), sister Mary Robinson and brother Richi Forster (Vi). She was predeceased by her husband Richard Fairhurst, and sister Vera Bruce.
Kelly was born in Burnaby where she taught school
before marrying and moving to Whistler in 1958. She
and Richard built Cypress Lodge on the west side of
Alta Lake (currently the Cdn.Youth Hostel). In 1980
they retired to Parksville where she became an active
member of the quilters guild. Kelly and Lew were
married in 1990 and they subsequently moved to the
Okanagan to begin their new life. Kelly will be fondly
remembered for her quick sense of humour, her musical
and artistic talents and her generous love of family
and friends.
Heartfelt thanks to the very generous and loving
caregivers at Nanaimo Seniors Village, and to Dr. Lam.
A memorial service celebrating Kelly’s life will be held at Sands Funeral Chapel,One Newcastle Avenue,Nanaimo at 2pm on Saturday, Jan. 13th.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Parkinson Society Canada or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
WORIES, Joannes Allegondus (Joe)
Dec. 29, 1924 –Dec. 27, 2006
Passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness. Joe was born in Voorburg, The Netherlands and immigrated to Calgary, Alberta in 1958. He worked at CP Rail until his retirement and then they relocated to Qualicum Beach, B.C.
Joe is survived by his wife Willy of 54 years, and daughter Patricia, sister Riny (Gerry) Van Doorn and many nieces and nephews and good friends.
