George Edward Terry

February 2, 1928 - October 3, 2017

George Edward Terry, age 89, went to be with the Lord on October 3, 2017.

He passed away in his home in Bowser, B.C., with members of his family present.

George was born February 2, 1928 in Winnipeg, to Fredrick and Mary (Yarochewski) Terry. He was the fourth of ten children growing up in Esterhazy Saskatchewan.

George was a kind, intelligent and compassionate man of faith, who deliberately imparted love and wisdom to his family and friends.

George worked hard as a young man; mining, lumber mills and construction. In 1952, he worked as a second lieutenant for the Royal Canadian Engineers Military, surveying in the Northwest Territories. In 1955 George attended a youth church event where he spotted the "Love of his Life", a beautiful young nurse in training named Frances Mary Quinlan, whom he married a year later on December 1, 1956. They spent the next sixty wonderful years together.

George and Frances Terry owned Terry's Grill in Bienfait Saskatchewan for seven years, before heading to British Columbia.

George used his abundance of experience to excel as a dedicated, nurturing teacher for 25 years in Maple Ridge, B.C.

George retired from teaching, farmed in Port Coquitlam for ten years, then  relocated with Frances to Bowser on Vancouver Island.

Left to honour George and remember his love are his wife (Frances Mary Terry) and his four children, spouses and grandchildren: Marie Bidwell (Terry), Patrick Terry and Kimberley Harding (spouse), Warren Terry, Kathleen Bohn (Terry) and Kevin Bohn (spouse).

The six wonderful grandchildren are: Jenna Bohn, Brianna Bohn, Victor Bidwell, Jesse Bidwell, Thomas Bidwell, Patrick Bidwell.
