Geraldine Anne Craven
February 18, 1934 – February 11, 2017
It is with great sadness that the love of our lives passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at The Gardens, Qualicum Beach, after suffering from a progressive palsy (PSP) for several years. Geraldine is survived by her husband, Tony; sons, Anthony (Robert), Lawrence and Matthew; daughters, Frances and Collette; sisters, Theresa and Josephine; 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Geraldine was born in West Derby, Liverpool, the sixth in a family of seven daughters born to Tom and Anne Edwards. In 1949 Geraldine met Anthony and they married in 1954. After raising their family in Lancashire and Yorkshire, they emigrated to Canada in 1982. They lived and worked in Edmonton and then Fort McMurray. Geraldine and Anthony retired to Florida in 1992 before returning to England and then Spain.
In 2004 they found the peace and tranquility of Vancouver Island and resided in Parksville until ill health necessitated treatment at NRGH, Dufferin Place, and finally at The Gardens in Qualicum Beach. The family are grateful for the quality of care and attention Geraldine received from all the medical staff, care workers, and others who look after the ill 24 hours a day, 365 days a year at all of these locations.
A private funeral service will be held at a later date.
