MITCHELL, Gordon Alexander
Born January 17, 1951 in Glasgow, Scotland.
Left us after a brief, courageous battle with lung cancer on August 21, 2003 at his home in Parksville.
Predeceased by his parents John and Ina Mitchell of Qualicum Beach. Gordon leaves to mourn his wife of 25 years, Valerie; his beloved sons David, Adam (Jacquie) and Jordan; his precious grandson Eric; his brothers Ed (Deedi) and Iain; nephew Keith and nieces Debbie, Stephanie and Vanessa; great-niece Vyvian; aunts, uncles and cousins in Ontario and Scotland; mother-in-law Eileen Colibaba (predeceased by father-in-law Len and sister-in-law Debra); sister-in-law Chris (Randy) and brother-in-law Tim Colibaba.
Services to be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, August 27, 2003 at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 795 West Island Highway, Parksville, BC. Pastor Robert Koebernick officiating
Donations in Gordon’s memory may be made to the Nanaimo Hospital Foundation. Gordon will be greatly missed by his many dear friends. He will be remembered for his music, his humor and his inspiring determination in the face of many challenges throughout his life.
