Helen will be missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Gordon, sons Brian and Peter Schofield, daughter Elizabeth Beck and her husband Tony, granddaughters Isabella and Hannah, and cousin Kaye Hicks (Faunt) and her husband Bob. Predeceased by her mother Catherine. Helen was born in Edmonton in November 1927, spent early childhood in Mountain Park, AB, and then raised in Vancouver. She moved to Qualicum Beach in 1962 with her first husband Jack Schofield, and family. She attended Vancouver School of Art in the 1940s, and worked for the Vancouver School Board as a commercial artist before starting her family. She also later worked as a substitute teacher, a bookkeeper/accountant for family businesses and for the RAVEN Society, a hotel conventions manager, and for District 69 Homemakers. She served as a School Trustee and School Board Chairman from 1964 to 1970 in Qualicum Beach, was a member and President in Beta Sigma Phi for many years, and was active in the community. Accomplished in painting, fine arts, knitting, sewing and bridge. She held a great love for reading, classical music and opera, and gardening, especially roses, and was deeply devoted to her family and many friends. Mom had a character and intelligence throughout her life which will continue to inspire us forever.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the Staff of St. Joseph’s General Hospital (2nd Floor) for their tender care and love towards Helen.

The family will be having a private service.
