Helga loved to travel and at 19yrs she moved to Australia where she developed many friendships along the way. Upon returning to Canada, she resided in Nanoose, where she built her own home and created her garden of Eden. Later, she discovered her passion in rehabilitation for dogs. She obtained her Hydrotherapy license and Canine First-Aid training towards this dream. Along with Nutritionist and Herbalist studies, she was able to publish her rst book titled “The Ultimate Rehabilitation & Physiotherapy Guide for Dogs”. Choosing to always live in the moment, she shared her love with nature through her photography, gardens, and many walks in the forest and along the beach. Her strong spirit carried her through her journey with her family and close friends until her nal days. She will be remembered as witty, laughing, and positive amongst even the most di cult of circumstances. Helga will be greatly missed by all, and remain forever in our hearts. In lieu of owers, donations in Helga’s memory may be made to “Home at Last Dog Rescue.” The family would also like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful sta at Trillium Lodge for their great care. Special thanks to Dr. Marlene Van Der Weyde, also thanks to Dr. Brian Calvin, Dr. Daryl Lund, and Dr. Christoph Kind. A celebration of life will be held for close friends and family. “In every walk with Nature one receives far more than he seeks” – John Muir
