Born February 16, 1919 in Uxbridge, England, Henry passed away peacefully on the morning of January 16, 2009.

Predeceased by his wife Yvette and son Richard, he is survived by his daughter Francine, son Edward, and grandchildren.

Henry arrived in Canada as a baby, grew up in the Alberni Valley and was with the RCAF stationed in England during WWII.

He moved to Campbell River in the early fifties, where met his wife and raised his family. He worked at the Elk Falls Paper Mill for 30 years until his retirement, eventually settling in Parksville.

Henry and Yvette enjoyed many happy years thereafter fishing, travelling and wintering in the California Desert.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital for the loving care Dad received during his last few weeks.

He had a keen sense of humour, was a great husband and father and has left us with many wonderful memories.

An informal, private memorial for family and friends

will be held at a later date.

Hank will truly be missed.
