Isabella Anne (nee McIntosh) Paul

December 5, 2005

PAUL, Isabella Anne (nee McIntosh)

Isabel was born in Brandon Manitoba in 1927 and

raised in Winnipeg. She passed away in Nanaimo

on December 5, 2005.

Her husband Andy predeceased her in 1997. She is survived by her brother George (Marg) McIntosh, son George (Patricia) Paul, daughters Lynne (Maurice) McKinnon and Cheryl Paul, grandchildren Christine, Erin, Michael (Bryn, Adrianne, Heather, Kevin and Kathleen, great-grandson Andrew and her loving nieces and nephews.

In 1947 Isabel started her married life with Andy in Red Rock, Ontario. They enjoyed this youthful and exuberant community for nine years until they moved to Port Alberni.

Isabel and Andy had many happy memories of their time in Cherry Creek where they made lifelong friends during their 36 years in the community. Isabel was very involved in Brownies and Guides and was Girl Guide Commissioner for Port Alberni during the 1960’s. For the last 14 years Isabel has resided in Nanoose Bay, close to her two daughters and their families.

Isabel loved her family and devoted her life to nurturing and caring for her children; grandchildren and beloved husband Andy (he was a major project!). We will remember her as a loving Mother who gave us a home, a safe haven filled with warmth and security.

Isabel passed away peacefully with the dignity that she deserved and with her family close at hand.

While our parents can no longer sooth us with their words of wisdom, what we do have is their cremated remains. We will spread them in accordance with their wishes on the heights of Mt. Arrowsmith where we will be able to look up to them as we always have.

In the summer of 2006 a memorial celebration of her life will be held in Nanoose Bay on a date to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.

“When you awaken in the morning’s hush

I am the swift uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circled flight

I am the soft stars that shine at night

Do not stand at my grave and cry

I am not there – I did not die”.
