RAYNOR, James Alfred
Born May 14, 1957 in Port Alberni, BC passed away March 28, 2007 at Nanaimo Regional Hospital Palliative Care Ward at the age of 49 years.
Jim is survived and sadly missed by his wife Mary and daughter Leila. Predeceased by his parents Al and Florrye he is also survived by his sisters Aleeta (Kevin) and Maureen, mother-in-law May; brothers-in-law Wally, Ben (Glenda) and nieces and nephews Riza (Chad), Jennifer, Laura, Krista, Nathan, Cameron, Benjamin and also many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Working in the logging industry for 30 years Jim was a great lover of nature and the outdoors and he spent many hours exploring the roads and beaches of Vancouver Island. He was well respected by his fellow workers where he spent his working years in the Franklin and Sarita River areas working firstly for MacMillan Bloedel and then Weyerhauser and Hayes Logging.
Jim was a dedicated family man and a true friend to his buddies. He was known for his physical strength and was generous with his time in helping out others when called upon. A dedicated vegetable gardener he also had a passion for his vintage trucks and cars and loved a game of pool on the family pool table.
There will be no funeral at Jim’s request and his ashes will be scattered at his favorite spot at a private family gathering.
Memorial donations in Jim’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a local Hospice Society.
