WHITE, James Henry

Born Nov. 6, 1925, Jim died suddenly after a lengthy illness on the evening of Saturday, May 15, 2004.

Jim travels ahead of Pat, his wife of 58 years, his three children, Fran Wilson, Vicky Tooby and Graham (Ceri) White, (all of Victoria) his 9 grandchildren: Mike, Cally, Trevor, Jeremy, Maegan, Jesse, Katie, Deanna and Daniel; his great-grandchildren, brother John and many other extended family members. Predeceased by his parents, Gertie and John, sister Ethel and granddaughter Sara Marie.

At the tender age of 17, he joined the Canadian Navy to serve his country during WWII. Jim also served in Korea after making the Army his career choice. He had an exemplary career in the Canadian Army, generally and specifically in the Canadian Provost Corps where he was well regarded and held in high esteem as a truly professional soldier by all of his comrades.

Moving extensively throughout his lifetime, Jim retired to Parksville, BC in 1993. Devoted to his family, a man of impeccable honesty with a strong moral code, Jim faced his death as he lived his life, with courage, faith and love. He will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he touched.

Services to be held at 1:30 pm, May 28, 2004, at the Anglican Parish of St. Anne and St. Edmund, 407 Wembley Road, Parksville.
