78 - passed away peacefully on december 20, 2006 in Qualicum Beach, BC.

Jim immigrated to Canada as a young man from Fife, Scotland. He worked initially for the Hudson’s Bay Company and for 35 years with the Saskatchewan provincial government, Department of natural Resources, as a Conservation Officer and Park Superintendent. He moved to Vancouver Island in 1987 to enjoy a wonderful retirement amidst the beautiful outdoors where he avidly pursued salmon fishing and almost year-round gardening.

He is survived by his loving wife Cathy; children Heather Macpherson (Les Doll) Halifax; Colin (Laurel) Macpherson Kamploops; Ian (Lori) Macpherson Kelowna; Lynn (Randolf) Headley Calgary; Lori (Doug) Hassard Saskatoon; step children Alison (Bruce) Nelson Calgary; Franki (Barry) Stuart Saskatoon; Suzanne (Forbes) Murray Sakatoon. He was the proud grandpa of Steven and Claire Doll; Mikayla, Rikki and Jody Martens; Christina (Tony) Mitchell, Scot and Amy Macpherson; Veronica, Graham and Sheldon Headley; Anna and Kim Hassard; John Nelson; Bryce, Curt and Dean Detuch; Kinzie and Callum Murray. He took great delight in his first great-granddaughter, Natalie Mitchell.

He was pre-deceased by his first wife, Dorothy, his brother, David, and by grandson Reid Murray.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday,January 9, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Stephen’s United Church, Qualicum Beach, BC.
