FILMER, Jane (Jean) Martin (nee Muir)
September 20, 1914 - December 13, 2008
Born and married in Nanaimo, to Ralph Filmer (deceased 1991).
Mother lived on the island most of her life, 50 plus years in District 69.
She is survived by sons Bill (Janis), Coombs; Don (Carol), Coquitlam; six grandsons: Brad, Ray, Joff, Lucas, Tim and Andy; and one granddaughter, Danielle.
Extended family Ken (Nancy) Hindemarch, Weir Muir, as well as plenty of her dear friends, too many to mention, you know who you are.
“Grannie,” as she was known by many, will be sadly missed by all that knew her.
She was a member of the Eastern Star for more than 60 years and a church person all her life, St. Steven’s of late.
She has requested no service
and her wish will be granted sadly.
The family wish to thank all those who helped make her last year’s pleasant. There are too many to list but we are grateful to all.
Of course, we must say a special thank you to Qualicum Manor and Dr. Sulz for their wonderful care. You truly made her last days comfortable.
Thank-You Again ...
Where’ere you walk this evening
Where’ere to hap to be.
Look up look up unto the skies
And think a thought of me.
And in the music of the spheres
That echoes back ten thousands years
You’ll hear my message in your ears.
And so Goodnight.
