Jerry Fitzpatrick
With heavy hearts we announce
Jerry’s passing on Friday, January 27, 2017
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ruth; children, Joe (Natasha), Kevin (Arina), Richard, and Sally; grandchildren, Billy, Eileen, Marilyn, Valeria, and Sergey; great grandchildren, Lucas, Aria and Evelyn. Jerry was predeceased by his sisters, Mary Kearsey and Kathleen Godwin.
Born in London to Irish parents, he won a scholarship to Christ’s Hospital school. After serving in the Royal Marines and Lancashire Fusiliers, Jerry obtained a degree in Mining Engineering at Imperial College, London. In 1957, Jerry immigrated to Canada where he worked in mines in Ontario, Labrador, Quebec, Alberta, and British Columbia.
Always having an active interest in computers, Jerry also greatly enjoyed cooking for family and friends, wine making, running, and wood turning. He loved camping and being in nature.
Jerry was especially grateful for all the friends he has made since retiring to Qualicum Beach.
