PLASHKA, Jim
January 3, 1951 - December 2, 2009
Mr. James (Jim) Brian Plashka of the Parksville area, beloved father of Tarah Knight of Okotoks, AB and beloved son of Nettie Plashka of Nanaimo, BC passed away in Victoria, BC on Wednesday, Dec 2, 2009 at the age of 58 years.
Jim was born on January 3, 1951 in Calgary, AB and has been a resident of BC for the last 30 years. He enjoyed carpentry work, playing tennis and was an avid traveller.
Music was Jim’s life, being a bass player in a local band.
Besides his daughter and mother, Jim is survived by four grandchildren, brothers; Ron (Kathy) Plashka, Barry (Maria) Plashka, Terry Plashka, sister Anna (Greg) Shinbine and nieces and nephews Jeff, Jennifer, Mathew, Andrea and Danielle. Jim was predeceased by his father Alex Plashka and his sister Janet Plashka.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 11, 2009 at 11:00am at Yates Funeral Chapel (1000 Allsbrook Rd Parksville, BC) with Reverend Foster Freed officiating. The Graveside Service
will follow at the Qualicum Beach Cemetery
(867 Jones St Qualicum Beach, BC).
