CANNON, Joan

Bravely passed away on March 20, 2004

Jo will be dearly missed by her sister Kay in England, and the English relatives, daughters Patricia (Kathe), Jean and granddaughters Kate and Kari, as well as her many beloved friends. Accomplished in many fields, Jo led a varied and adventurous life. She served as a W.R.E.N. during World War II, was a coastal airline dispatcher, a journalist, a writer, a realtor, and an ESL teacher. During her retirement, Jo became a core member of the Target Theatre Group and was a dedicated environmental activist. Sincere thanks to Doctors Pam Nicholls, Katherine Fitzgerald and A.H. Hayashi, Home Care nurse Shirley Nixon and all the Hospice and Home Care staff who were extraordinarily kind and effective in allowing Jo to live as fully as possible until her death.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the James Bay New Horizons at 234 Menzies on Saturday, April 3, 2004, 2-4 pm. In lieu of flowers donations to the Victoria Hospice Society, 1952 Bay Street, Victoria, BC, V8R 1J8.
