JOAN CARMEN MARY
LAIRD-CAMPBELL
It is with great sadness I announce the passing of my dear wife, Joan, on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at the age of
82 years, following a battle with cancer.
Joan was born and raised in Winnipeg, graduating from the Balmoral Hall School for Girls. She worked for the Governor Generals’ office in Alberta for 30 years.
She loved playing the piano in seniors’ homes in both Qualicum Beach and Parksville, for the Salvation Army church services and at the Royal Canadian Legion levees.
She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and a member of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She attended the Parksville Fellowship Baptist Church and was a member of several lodges and groups who provide various types of care and assistance to the people of the Parksville Qualicum Beach area.
She is survived by her loving husband Bill Campbell, her sister Amy in Winnipeg and her brother Victor in Fort Saskatchewan.
A service celebrating her life will be held at the Parksville Fellowship Baptist Church at 10am on Wednesday, July 26, 2017. (550 Pym Street, Parksville).
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 565 West 10th Avenue, Vancouver, BC V5Z 4J4.
