Joan E. Thuma
a.k.a. "Aunty Joan"
1930 - 2008
In the early hours of June 26, 2008, Joan passed away in her sleep.
She leaves behind her son Joe Thuma and daughter in law Jane, her grandchildren Kyle and Melodie as well as her niece Carmen Beattie and her sons Donald and Cole.
Also left to cherish her memory are her brother Bill Bloss in England, her in-laws Rudi and Ursula Thuma of Port Alberni and her nephew Ron Thuma with his partner Tobi Henderson and their son Tyler. She also leaves behind treasured friends with whom she created and shared many wonderful memories.
Joan volunteered for many years on Tuesday mornings at the SOS and was an avid dancer. She had a very active social life and enjoyed her life to the fullest. She will be very deeply missed.
Respecting her wishes, no service will be held.
A celebration of her life will follow at a later date when everyone can remember her with laughter and happiness, the way she wanted to be remembered.
