Sadly passed away Wednesday July 14th, 2010 after a short illness. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, godfather, ‘Second Dad’ , mentor and friend. He will be greatly missed.
A life-long aviator and WWII vet, John also pursued a variety of hobbies including picture framing, figure skating, computers, ham radio, Canadian & aviation history, painting, volunteering and especially playing music. He is survived by Aileen, his wife of 62 years, daughters Chris, April and Jennifer, his granddaughter Kathleen, his ‘almost’ families and his many friends.
A Celebration of John’s Life will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2010 from 1:30 -3:30 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch at 146 W. Hirst Ave Parksville and all are welcome. Folks are invited to say a few words or play along with Dads band The Ramblers if they wish.
