Joyce Mary FULLJAMES
November 15,1925 – March 26, 2017
At peace and reunited with her beloved Alan at last, Joyce passed away on Sunday, March 26th in Stanford Place Care Campus after a lengthy illness. She is survived by son, Wayne (Sue) in Kitimat; niece, Kay in Colorado; nephew, John (Elizabeth) in Colorado. Joyce was predeceased by her beloved husband, Alan in 1998; son, Michael in 2015; and sister and brother in law Audrey and Bill Fielding.
Joyce was born in London, England and immigrated to Canada in 1960. The family settled immediately in Kitimat where Alan worked at the Aluminum Co. of Canada and Joyce as an operator for BC Tel.
A more energetic and resourceful person than Joyce could not be found, as she trod many different paths over the years, from grocery store and second hand store operator to many ventures into real estate. Never one to sit still, Joyce was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Business & Professional Womens` Club in Kitimat.
In 1982, she and Alan retired to White Rock where Joyce enjoyed a new career as Canada Customs Agent. Their last move was to Qualicum Beach where Joyce continued her active involvement with the Legion and the Seniors Centre, as well as supporting Alan in his many Masonic Lodge offices.
Joyce was a generous and faithful friend, always maintaining her positive attitude and refusing to give in to her growing physical limitations. She will be missed by her many friends and those whose lives she touched with her fabulous energy.
The family extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Stanford Place for the care they provided to Joyce during her time with them. In keeping with Joyce’s wishes, no services will be held.
