Lance Edward Waddell

September 14, 2003

WADDELL, Lance Edward

of Qualicum Beach, BC, passed away suddenly on September 14, 2003 at the age of 39.

Lance was born on August 12, 1964, and lived in the Qualicum Beach area for most of his life. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, 4x4ing, fishing and camping with his buddies. Lance was always smiling and was quite recognizable driving through the area in his “Big Bad Ford”. He always waved or flashed his lights at people he knew. He was a very friendly guy and was known for his caring and helpful spirit. His family and friends were the most important things in his life and he loved them all dearly.

Lance worked for the Town of Qualicum Beach for several years and enjoyed having fun with his co-workers, both on the job and off. He was well known for playing practical jokes on the staff and he always gave as good as he got. Any job he took on was done to perfection. He will leave a huge void around town, where many, many people knew him.

Lance is survived by his parents Evan and Rosella and twin brother Lee, Lee’s wife Sandy and their son Jakob, all of Greenwood, BC. Lance was very loyal to his parents and spoke with them often. He had just recently spent a few days with Lee and Jakob and was so proud of the job Lee was doing raising his son. Lance loved being an uncle and Jakob stole his heart.

Lance is also survived by his partner Evelyn and her children Danika and Naomi, of Qualicum Beach. Lance and Evelyn had bought their first home last year and worked hard together to make it a special place. They had many plans for their future together. Lance had an amazing knack for taking on any project and doing an incredible job. He loved his home and his life and was very happy to share both with those he knew. It will not be the same without him. Lance knew he was loved and he had a deep faith in God. He knew he would be cared for when his time came. Rest in Peace Lance. You will always be in my heart.

Service will be held Saturday, September 27 at 2 pm at the Fellowship Baptist Church, 550 N. Pym Rd., Parksville. Pastor Bob Koebernick officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lance’s name to the Town of Qualicum Beach, 201-660 Primrose St., Box 130, Qualicum Beach, V9K 1S7. A Memorial bench in Lance’s name will be built and placed by his co-workers at a later date.
