SMILEY, Laurette (nee Carrierè)
After a valiant battle following a devastating stroke, Laurette passed away in Parksville on January 13, 2004.
She was born in Montreal on the 8th of July, 1942.
She is survived by her husband Lorne, daughter Wendy-Marie and grandchildren Desiree and Warren. She will be remembered by her father Emilien Carrierè of Magog Quebec and her stepfather Barney Veland of Langley. She was a former employee of the Royal Bank in Victoria. Laurette’s zest for life was immense. After a major operation 24 years ago she enjoyed the simple things of every day life, such as a good cup of coffee, new friends in Parksville and her beloved Montreal Canadiens. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 40 years and her many friends and relatives. The family would like to thank the staff at Trillium Lodge for their compassionate care.
