Lois Ann Aquilini (nee Teale)

August 18, 2017

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lois Aquilini in her 71st year. Following a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer she passed away peacefully with family by her side on August 18, 2017 in Parksville B.C. She will be remembered as a loving and dear wife, mother, nana, sister, daughter, and friend. She was predeceased by her father Norman Teale. She leaves behind her husband John of 51 years, daughter Jennifer (John) Campbell , granddaughters Lauren and Nicole, sister Janet (Gordon) McGonigle, their children Reid (Darcie) and Erin, mother Elsie Brookes, and many close family and friends. Lois was born in Calgary where she grew up, met and married her husband John. She worked for the Bank of Montreal for most of her career while raising her family before retiring to Vancouver Island. Lois enjoyed travelling, spending many vacations at Mabel Lake, visiting family in Saskatchewan, exploring the east coast of Canada, going to Italy twice, seeing Graceland, the Kentucky Derby, and spending time in Arizona and California. In retirement she spent several years volunteering at the Tourist Information Centre in Qualicum Beach B.C. She also enjoyed making various crafts, spending time with her weekly Stitch group, and lately couldn’t be seen without her iPad in hand. No service by request. Donations may be made to the BC Cancer Society or Oceanside Hospice Society. Many thanks to the nurses and doctors at Trillium Hospice, Nanaimo Regional Hospital, and VIHA for their kind and compassionate care.
