LORNA A. ADSIT (nee JONES)
1921 - 2009
It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, Lorna on December 24, 2009.
Mom was a little lady with a great deal of spunk, wit, courage and humour, touching the lives of everyone around her. In the past 16 months, she had resided at Stanford Place in Parksville, where she received the love, patience, and greatest of care by the entire staff. Her family will be forever grateful to them all.
Lorna was a dedicated member and Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, receiving her 60-year pin in 2003. She also enjoyed a long-time membership with the Lady’s Auxiliary to Legion #40 in Penticton. For years she was a member of the Penticton Square Dance Club, where she danced her way around many city streets and halls.
Predeceased by her loving husband, Earl in 2008, she will be greatly missed by her daughters Carole Agar of Ladysmith, Gwen Gates of Parksville, and Judy Thomas of Campbell River. Her sons Trevor Thomas of Inuvik, NWT, and Bob (Sandy) Thomas of Calgary, Alberta...11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren. Also her sister, Joyce (Les) Savard of Arnprior, Ontario, and half-brother Morgan (Margaret) Jones of Ottawa, Ontario, as well as many very special friends.
A memorial service will be held for Lorna on January 9, 2010 at 1:30 in the Chapel of the Yates Funeral Home in Parksville. Reception following...
