(Louise) Lynne Thomson (Moore), (Swanson) Nee Kram

May 15, 1947 – October 05, 2009

Born in Edmonton, Lynn passed away at the St Joseph’s Hospital, Comox, BC. She is survived by her children: Craig (Kelly), Cory (Eika), Lonny (Danielle), Grandchildren: Ashley, Patrick, Kyle, and Marissa. Sister: Sharon Fausten and Brother: Ken Kram. Special Friends: Lee Lauritzen and David Donaldson.

Lynn toured western Canada and Europe as a post-war Air Force brat. After starting a modeling career in Winnipeg, Lynn met and married Air Force pilot Ray Moore, and began her career as a homemaker and mother; giving birth to Craig and Cory. After moving to Edmonton, her first marriage dissolved. She met and married Barry Swanson, an Air Force Radar Technician, moved to Cold Lake, and had Lonny. Eventually settling on Vancouver Island, she continued her successful darts play, twice winning the BC Woman’s Championship. While on the island her marriage to Barry wound down and she met and married Barry Thomson.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Lynn will remember her as always having a smile and a glass of wine. Her family will remember her for following her own Mother’s example of never growing up.

Lynn was taken from us too soon due to Breast Cancer. As this horrible disease continues to take our mothers, sisters, and grandmothers from us, please support the fight against this sickness with a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society, Box 1299, Qualicum Beach, BC, V9K 1T3.

Mom, Grandma, Lynn, we are grateful that you are finally free from pain; that you are with your parents now, but we will miss you.

A service to celebrate Lynn’s life was held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at Yates Funeral Home, 1000 Allsbrook Road, Parksville, BC.
