It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Sonya at her proud age of 85 years. Predeceased in 2002 by her one and only love, her husband David, she is survived by her daughters Teresa and Leslie, and lovingly remembered by lifelong friends and extended family members. After moving to Coombs from her family homestead in Markerville Alberta, Sonya met and married her husband Dave and they raised their family there. Once moved to Qualicum Beach she shared retirement life with Dave, golfing with the ladies, and camping with friends. In recent years she enjoyed tending her flowers, quiet time reading, and watching the song birds. Her greatest wish has now been granted, reunited again – Dave and his stubborn Icelander. In keeping with her request, there will be no service. ‘Harley’, her loyal feline companion, suggests that in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Qualicum Cat Rescue Society, www.qualicumcatrescue.com
