Astrid was born in Malmberget Sweden to John Peter and Helga Nicolina Hanson. Came to Canada in 1912. Grew up in Oona River on Porcher Island - married James Reynolds in 1935. Raised their family of three in Prince Rupert and Terrace.
Astrid was a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Terrace. They moved to Nanoose Bay in 1976 where they enjoyed fishing on their boat.
Jim died in 1984, leaving Astrid after 49 years of marriage. Astrid came to live in Arrowsmith Lodge in 1995 where she spent many hours knitting strips to make blankets for the Children’s Hospital. The family wants to thank all the staff of Arrowsmith Lodge for her wonderful care.
Astrid valued her friendships dearly
So when you ask God for a gift,

Not diamonds, gold or riches,
But the love of a real true friend.

Predeceased by parents John and Helga Hanson, brother Axel Hanson and husband Jim Reynolds.
Left to mourn sister Alice Nesbitt, Prince Rupert; brother Ivan Hanson, Osoyoos; Daughters: Shirley Benoit (Dave), Qualicum Beach; Hazel Johnson, Nanaimo; and son Stephen Reynolds (Carol), Terrace; as well as 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 5 great, great granchildren.
There will be a memorial reception on
February 10 at Arrowsmith Lodge at 3:00 pm.
