Marie (Florida) Ivonne Gendron
October 18, 1917 ~ November 9, 2008
It is with deepest sadness and regret that we announce the passing of Marie Florida Ivonne Gendron (Bernard) Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister and aunt. Florida passed away in Nanaimo hospital on November 9, 2008 peacefully in her sleep. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband of 71 years, Philias, sons Albert (Shirley), Raymond (Ivy), Oliver (Carol), Edward, Lawrence (Cheryl) Alex (Shirley), Bruce (Jackie) and daughter Dianne (Albert), 23 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, sister Josephine Kraklay and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her Father and Mother Joseph and Eugene Bernard, her brother Albert Bernard, sisters Alice Dudar, Laura Pollard and her great grandson, Shawn Currier.
Florida was born in Fisher Branch, Manitoba on October 18, 1917 to her parents Joseph and Eugene Bernard. She married Phil Gendron on June 21, 1937 and lived in Tisdale, Saskatchewan until 1951. They moved to Prince George and lived there for 17 years. In 1968 they moved to Parksville, Vancouver island. Florida has been a member of the Drop In Center in Parksville for many years. She loved to knit and do crafts which she was really superb at. She also liked to dance and did so until her late 70s. She will be sadly missed by everyone that knew her.
