The passing of Mrs. Marie Agnes Dodsworth, age 83 years at her home in Parksville, BC on December 8, 2008. The Funeral Mass was held at the Church of the Ascension Roman Catholic Church in Parksville on December 9, 2008 at 1:00 pm. Celebrated by Father Jozef Kobos. Internment took place in Allan, SK at the Allan Roman Catholic Cemetery on December 12, 2008 at 3:00 pm. Celebrated by Father Joseph Choji.
Survived by her children Mrs. Alice (Brian) Cervo of Blairmore, AB, Mrs. Margaret Nolin of Powell River, BC, Mrs. Paulette Amyotte of Parksville, BC, Mrs. Linda Macgillivray of Parksville, BC, Mr. Glenn (Melody) Dodsworth of Calgary, AB and Mrs. Angeline (Peter) Knight of Campbell River, BC: seventeen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild: sisters Mrs. Clara (Hugo) Bitz of Saskatoon, SK, Mrs. Rose (Al) Boechler of Saskatoon, SK, Mrs. Claudine Buchan of White Rock, BC and Mrs. Pauline Pope of Vancouver, BC.
She was predeceased by her parents Angeline and Paul, three sisters Hilda, Annie and Erna, her husband Frederick on January 21, 1964, and her son Fred on May 7, 2004.
The late Mrs. Dodsworth was born in Allan Sk and lived in various locations throughout southern Saskatchewan until moving to Duncan, BC in May, 1945. She lived on Vancouver Island and in the Lower Mainland for most of her remaining years. Marie enjoyed cooking, crocheting, gardening and hockey. She was dedicated to her faith, family and friends throughout her life.
Farewell to Marie
Today we say farewell
And a sad farewell indeed
To someone we knew so well
From earthly bonds now freed.
A greater glory to meet her
And ties to reunite
Angels there to greet her
The Lord to guide her flight.
Heaven’s gates swing open wide
Her soul on angel’s wings
Loved ones there all by her side
Hark, the herald angels sing.
Eternal peace is hers at last
No worry, no pain, no tears
We, fond mem’ries of the past
Through many happy years.
