SARKISSIAN, Marion
passed away peacefully in Victoria on August 29, 2006.
She was a courageous woman who raised three children after the early death of her first husband, defeated cancer several times, and nursed her brother in his last illness. She was an enthusiastic golfer, bridge player and gardener. She will be very much missed by her children Jan (Andrew), Doug (Lucy) and Bill (Julia); sister Charlotte; grandchildren Meredith, Benjamin, Michelle, Shanda, Clifford and Justin; many nieces and nephews; and many good friends she met over the years, particularly in association with Eaglecrest Golf Club, through playing bridge, and through her involvement with the Canadian Cancer Society. Special thanks to the staff at Hawthorne Place in Qualicum Beach and Parkwood Court in Victoria.
A Memorial Service in Marion’s honour will be held on Monday, September 11, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Stephen’s United Church, 150 Village Way, Qualicum Beach. A reception will follow at Eaglecrest Golf Club.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be much appreciated.
