Martin Campbell

October 2, 1939 - September 25, 2017

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Martin, but rejoice in his eternal life with Jesus.

Martin came from a musical family, excelling in singing - often a featured vocalist in many choirs, musical productions and the Seattle Opera. His powerful, baritone voice commanded respect.

Martin received scholarships to pursue his education in Washington State where he taught music and choir in a number of high schools. During summer months he was a successful guide at the famous Painter's Lodge in Campbell River, where his parents resided.

He was also athletic; winning "the mile" in a number of regional events. Later, he managed his own Gym where he mentored many in body building.

Mart enjoyed building barns, decks, etc. He loved fishing, hunting, especially bow hunting on horseback with his son Blake.

He had a love for horses throughout his life and was able to lease land in Texas to operate his own ranch.

His greatest passion however, was teaching - always wanting to pass on his knowledge to others.

He was predeceased by his father and mother - David and Hazel Campbell, Brother Melvin Campbell and his infant son Martin Jr.

He is survived by his sister Adele (Ed Varney) and brother Colin (Manya), sister-in-law Marion, children: Blake (Annette), Kelly, Kari (Chris), Rachel, and Michaela; grandchildren: Rebecca, Justin, Jaylin, Sophia and Liliana; also, many nieces and nephews.

He will be greatly missed.

Many thanks to the BC Ambulance Paramedics: Cliff and Andrew, and all the Doctors and nurses at Nanaimo Regional hospital who attended to him.
